Kris Allen: it's the Christian thing.
Conway, AR -- In a surprising move that further demonstrates his humble and compassionate nature, American Idol Season 8 champion Kris Allen has announced that he is donating his title to runner-up Adam Lambert.
The 23-year-old musician made the announcement during a phone interview on the "Wacky Wayne Kingsley" morning radio show on KHDX 93.1 FM, saying he "feels really bad about all the disappointed Adam Lambert fans out there who are unable to handle the loss."
"My heart goes out to all of Adam's fans who are running around desperately trying to come to terms with the outcome of the finale," Allen said. "So I've decided to donate the American Idol title to Adam."
Allen maintained his belief that he, too, deserves the title, but said he doesn't mind giving it away to Lambert because "it's the Christian thing to do."
“I really hope that now that Adam has the title, that his fans can finally move on with their lives. I toss and turn at night worrying about them.”
The married former church missionary said he hasn't yet spoken with Lambert about the donation, but is confident that the 27-year-old theater-trained singer from San Diego will "scream with delight" once he finds out.
"I'm FedExing the trophy to Adam today," Allen told host Kingsley. "It should be in his hands before 9 tomorrow."
Since the shocking American Idol season finale last week, the Internet has been flooded by furious and angry "Glambert" fans who have posited numerous conspiracy theories as to why their favorite lost. Even the New York Times has joined the outcry with the publication of a story accusing show sponsor AT&T of favoring Allen by providing access to demo cellphones at a couple of small pro-Allen "texting" parties in Conway.
"I really hope that now that Adam has the title, that his fans can finally move on with their lives. I toss and turn at night worrying about them," said Allen, whose coronation single, "No Boundaries," is expected to debut high on the Billboard Hot 100.
Avid Lambert fans have rejoiced upon hearing the news and applauded Allen for his kindness and generosity.
"I am so happy I think I'm going to cry," said May Longpiece, 47. "Thank you Kris Allen for taking the high road and making us Adam fans happy."

‘Glamberts’ have gotten over it pretty nicely, though. I was rooting for Danny the whole way, but I continued to watch even after he was kicked off. I had stopped voting though, and I DID want Kris to win, but (not directing this towards the article), I am sick of people nagging on Glamberts for having some raw feelings for the finale. Their idol came in SECOND. /I/ was pissed when Danny left, EVERYone gets upset when their idol doesn’t come in first. (not that Adam won’t have a TERRIFIC career, mind you).
I’ve been searching around all the typical American Idol forums, and the glamberts are very classy fans. You still have your typical 9 year old IT’S NOT FAIR posting around but you get those in every group. Clay had A TON when he lost.
For the most part, Adam fans have come to terms with Kris being winner, and I have actually have been supportive for Kris and his fans. Not that I count for anything, LOL.
Just thought I’d throw this out there. I know this is suppose to be ‘funny’ and I did laugh. Props to who wrote it.
