Top Las Vegas producer wants Lady Gaga in tribute revue, says singer was ‘born to do Vegas’
The most prolific producer in Las Vegas wants Lady Gaga to star in a new tribute show he is putting together for Planet Hollywood.
David Saxe, head of the largest and longest-running show production company in Las Vegas, David Saxe Productions, said the “Poker Face” singer impressed him with her electrifying performance as Liza Minnelli doing David Bowie karaoke at the 58th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles Monday night.
“It was absolutely mesmerizing, the way she owned the stage with her moves and her charismatic stage presence. I don’t often say this about anyone, but Lady Gaga was born to do Vegas,” said Saxe. “She would be the perfect lead for the new revue I’m working on.”
Saxe said the new show will be a tribute show within a tribute show — the Inception of Las Vegas shows as he calls it — and would revolve around a female impersonator impersonating other iconic personalities as Liza Minnelli.
“The search for my Liza Minnelli is over. Lady Gaga has the part if she wants it,” said Saxe.
David Saxe Productions has already reached out to Lady Gaga’s management team to offer her the part. While they haven’t heard back yet, Saxe is optimistic that the failed pop star and former network television intern would be up for the challenge.
