The Bent*Spud 2 Cents:Rather than listen to bean counters and put out a sequel to their 80s-tastic second album, the Mancunian lads instead took several left turns and came up with their own “OK Computer.” A lovely record. Grandiose and humbling. Intimate and imposing. Engaging and reclusive. Mostly introspective. A little torchy too. The boys show so many layers here. Quite possibly 2018’s best album.
