“The Immaculate Collection” by Madonna

One listen to this greatest hits collection originally released in 1990, and it becomes clear very quickly why she is the Queen of Pop, and one of the best-selling female artists in history. The 17 tracks on this set cover the first wave of her fame in the 80s, and capture all of the hits (well, most of it anyway) that made her such a dominant force on radio and mainstream pop culture during that era. Rhino reissued the legendary compilation in breathtaking blue and gold vinyl, and it is definitely something that Madonna completists would want in their own immaculate collections.

Best tracks: “Holiday,” “Lucky Star,” “Borderline,” “Like A Virgin,” “Material Girl,” “Crazy For You,” “Into The Groove,” “Live To Tell,” “Papa Don’t Preach,” “Open Your Heart,” “La Isla Bonita,” “Like A Prayer,” “Express Yourself,” “Cherish,” “Vogue,” “Justify My Love,” “Rescue Me”
