Sickening moment 125 worms burst out of puppy’s skin filmed by vet
This is the stomach-churning moment a poor pooch is treated for a horrendous infestation of mangoworms.
Attacking the puppy’s legs and back, the larvae like creatures burst out of huge holes as vets put pressure on the canine’s wounds.
Over 125 of the sickening parasites are thought to have be squeezed out of the tiny dog’s fur, which had become sore and inflamed by the worms.
The three minute video was posted on YouTube by a veterinary clinic in Gambia and has racked up an impressive 4.3 million views.
Thankfully, after his treatment, the brave pup is looking much better, and can be seen tucking into a huge bowl of dog food, his skin already on the mend.
Mangoworms are common in tropical regions of Africa, and can burrow into human skin as well as the animals.
Squeezing the larvae out is only usually recommended if there is no other medical assistance available, as burst parasites can cause serious infections.
