North Carolina man creates dating app that bars all other men
A tech-savvy North Carolina man made a dating app with only one choice — himself.
Aaron Smith, of Greensboro, recruited his software engineer friend to develop the app, called Singularity, according to WFMY News 2.
“The biggest problem with the other apps is that my face is not featured prominently,” Smith told the outlet.
The phone app features a rotation of different photos of Smith for any prospective daters who may connect with him.
Smith used a simple analogy to explain how he cut out the competition.
“If life gives you lemons, you should first make lemonade,” he said.
“Then make sure no other companies can produce or distribute their own soft drinks. So the only game in town is lemonade.”
His friend Scott McDowell, who helped create the dating app, said, “All of us who have done online dating in some sorta way can all relate to the fact that it really does sometimes suck.”
Smith even made a YouTube ad to promote the new app.
