‘Seductive’ Lady Gaga shines, feels relevant at Oscars
Los Angeles, CA Even though she wasn’t nominated for anything and clearly had no business being there, pop star Lady Gaga defied better judgment and proved herself a true, relevant icon by attending the 86th Academy Awards Sunday decked out in glamorous garb evoking Hollywood of yesteryear.
Wearing a strapless, pink mermaid-cut Versace gown with matching shawl, putting on her best catwalk face, and exuding the sensuality and seductiveness of a rainbow trout, the “Poker Face” singer was the last to arrive at the red carpet, no doubt a calculated move to ensure maximum exposure and attention. She was greeted by thunderous applause and cheers from multitudes of fans upon her arrival outside the Dolby Theatre.
Soaking up the night full of Hollywood glamor, beauty and class, Lady Gaga was seen hanging out and being photographed with such important luminaries as Elton John and Kelly Osbourne.
The singer also managed to squeeze herself into the “selfie” that host Ellen DeGeneres took with a bunch of A-list stars such as Meryl Streep and Brad Pitt at the halfway mark of the show. The photograph has since set the record for being the most retweeted post on Twitter – over 3.1 million times so far.
After the three-hour-plus telecast, which saw “12 Years A Slave” take the top prize as this year’s Best Picture, Lady Gaga hightailed it to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party hosted by Graydon Carter in West Hollywood, where she changed to a white strapless gown presumably also made by Versace. The singer is currently under contract with the seasoned Italian fashion house as the face of their Spring 2014 ad campaign.
Although she got to hang out and get photographed with more celebrities at the Vanity Fair party, among them legendary Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks, Lady Gaga had to leave early after developing an eye infection, which, according to sources close to the singer, was caused by an allergic reaction to her glue-on nylon wig.
The singer is presently in the midst of preparations for her upcoming “artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball” tour.
