“Jagged Little Pill” by Alanis Morissette

Producer/songwriter Glen Ballard, who previously struck gold with Wilson Phillips’s pop debut, captured lightning in a bottle with Alanis Morissette with this one monster juggernaut of a record from the 1990s that launched a thousand angry female records. Probably not the best record to listen to while winding down for the night, what with all the angst and what not, but what the hell.

Best tracks: “You Oughta Know,” “Hand In My Pocket,” “Ironic” (Hell, the entire album is ace.)
